What It Is

Comfort the factory didn't include.

If your vehicle didn't come from the factory with heated and cooled seats, we add them — properly. Heating elements go into the seat cushion and backrest. Cooling pulls air through the seat (Degreez) or extracts air from the cushion (Induction System by Champion). Switches mount to a sensible spot in your interior.

Real heat. Real cool. Installed like we mean it.

Best installed during a leather or upholstery job since the seats are already coming apart, but we can install standalone on existing leather or cloth. Three levels of heat, three levels of cooling, backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

Two Systems Compared

Degreez vs. Induction System. Both warranted.

Different cooling mechanisms. Both work. Pick based on what fits your vehicle and budget.

Degreez by Katzkin

Air-blown system. Cabin air is pushed up through the seat cushion (cool) or warmed and pushed (heat). Three levels of each. Most popular option.

Induction System by Champion

Heat pad system with cooling via air extraction (pulls air out of the cushion). Different feel from Degreez but equally effective. Often the right pick for vehicles with limited under-seat space.

Specialty

Both systems require perforated leather to function. If your interior isn't already perforated, we can modify the existing seat covers to work with the cooling system.

Common Questions

What people ask before they book.

What's the difference between Degreez and the Induction System?
Mechanism. Degreez by Katzkin blows air through the seat (cabin air pushed up through perforations). Induction System by Champion extracts air from the cushion (creates a cooling effect by pulling warmth out). Both have three levels each way. Both warranted. We'll recommend one based on your specific vehicle and what's under the seat.
Do my seats need to be perforated?
Yes — both systems require perforation for the air to move through. When you're adding heated & cooled during a new Katzkin or custom leather install, perforation is just an option you spec from the start — the panels come in perforated. If your existing seats aren't perforated, we don't perforate your current leather — instead, we can modify the existing seat covers so the cooling system works. We'll spec exactly what's possible when we quote.
What if my seats are cloth?
Cooling needs air to pull through perforated leather (or another compatible perforated material). Standard cloth generally doesn't have enough airflow for either cooling system to work properly. If you want heated & cooled on cloth seats, the recommended path is to add leather at the same time — Katzkin or custom, perforated, with the cooling system installed during the same job. Heated-only (no cooling) works fine on cloth — see Heated Seats.
How long does the install take?
Standalone: at least two business days — the air-pull infrastructure on heated & cooled is more involved than heated-only. If we're installing during a leather job, it adds maybe a half day to the leather install timeline since the seats are already apart. Bundle scheduling is more efficient.
Where do the switches go?
Switches mount in a sensible location — seat side, center console, or wherever fits your interior cleanly. They're aftermarket switches for most vehicles. We'll spec what's possible for your vehicle when we quote.
What's the warranty?
Both systems carry a 3-year / 36,000-mile manufacturer warranty. Plus our workmanship warranty on the install itself.
Can you do rear seats too?
Heated rear seats are available on most vehicles for an additional cost. Cooling on the rear is less common but available on some configurations. Ask when you quote — depends on your specific vehicle.
