What It Is

A clear physical barrier between paint and the road.

Paint Protection Film is a thick clear urethane film that bonds to the surfaces of your vehicle most exposed to road damage — hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors, headlights. Rock chips, road debris, bug acid, salt, and minor scratches hit the film, not the paint. Llumar Platinum is self-healing — minor scratches and swirls disappear with heat (sun, warm wash water) over a few minutes.

Real protection. Not a coating you reapply every year.

Different from ceramic coating: PPF is a physical barrier (thick film); ceramic is a chemical bond on the paint surface. Many customers do both — PPF on impact zones, ceramic over the rest. We carry Llumar Platinum (premium tier) as the standard.

Common Questions

What people ask before they book.

PPF vs. ceramic coating — what's actually different?
PPF is a physical film barrier that takes the impact of rock chips and road debris before they reach your paint. Ceramic coating is a chemical bond on the paint's surface that helps with water repellency and UV but doesn't stop physical damage. Many customers do both — PPF on impact zones, ceramic over the rest.
Will it look obvious on my paint?
No, when properly installed. Llumar Platinum is optically clear and follows panel edges. From a few feet away the film is invisible. Up close you can see the edge transitions if you look — but they're cut to follow body lines, not arbitrary trim lines.
What's the warranty on the film itself?
Llumar Platinum carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, peeling, and adhesive failure. Coach stands behind the install — if there's an installation issue (edge lift, bubbles, misalignment), we fix it.
How long does install take?
Partial coverage: 1–2 business days. Full coverage: 2–3 days. Each panel needs to be cleaned, the film custom-cut to fit, applied carefully to avoid air bubbles, and given time to cure. We don't compress the timeline, but we'll give you an estimate when we quote.
What about repair if the film gets damaged?
Damaged sections can be replaced — we cut out the damaged piece and apply fresh film to that panel. The cost depends on which panel and how much area. Self-healing handles minor swirls and light scratches automatically over time with heat exposure.
