What It Is

The right install matters more than the camera.

A dashcam plugged into your 12V outlet works — but the cable hangs across your dashboard, the camera sits low, and you have no parking-mode protection because the camera dies when you turn the car off. A hardwired install fixes all three.

Wired in clean — power pulled through the headliner, cabling hidden, finished like factory.

We pull the camera's power cable through the headliner and down the A-pillar. We connect to a switched (and sometimes also a constant) circuit at the fuse box or to the OBD port depending on the camera. We ensure parking-mode systems can keep recording when the engine is off. Nothing else.

Camera Systems

Single, dual, or parking-mode.

Most customers go dual (front + rear). Parking mode is the upgrade that protects when you're not in the vehicle.

Common Questions

What people ask before they book.

Can I bring my own dashcam to install?
Yes. If you've already bought a dashcam or have one on the way, we'll install it. Same hardwiring discipline, same routing through the headliner, same workmanship warranty on the install. The brands we keep in shop (FTX, Thinkware) are what we recommend if you're starting fresh — but if you have a preference, we'll install what you bring.
Why hardwire instead of plug into the 12V?
Three reasons. (1) No dangling cable across your dashboard or A-pillar — the wire runs hidden through the headliner. (2) Parking mode works — the camera can stay powered when the engine is off (with safe cutoff so it doesn't drain your battery). (3) The 12V outlet is free for other use — phone charger, GPS, whatever. A 12V plug install takes 5 minutes; a hardwire takes 30–60 minutes and is worth it.
How long does the install take?
Depends on the camera's wiring harness. Some plug straight to the OBD port; others require power from the fuse box. Most are a couple hours. Front and interior cameras don't take extra time when combined; rear cameras can add a couple hours. We schedule by appointment so the bay is ready when you arrive.
Will parking mode drain my battery?
Not if installed correctly. Modern parking-mode dashcams include low-voltage cutoff — they monitor your starter battery's voltage and shut off recording before the level drops to where it could prevent your vehicle from starting. We configure cutoff conservatively. For very long parking sessions (multi-day at airport, garaged for storage), ask us about options.
Can you transfer my dashcam to a new vehicle later?
Yes. We can de-install and re-install on a new vehicle for a service fee. Most customers do this when they trade in or upgrade their car. The camera and the wiring kit travel with the dashcam.
Do you do fleet dashcam installations?
Yes — see our Fleet Services page. Volume scheduling and branded fleet dashcam packages are standard.
