Founded to do it better.
In 2003, regional managers at Classic Soft Trim — the install arm of leather supplier Roadwire — walked away to start their own shops. The trigger was quality: Roadwire had moved kit manufacturing to China and the standard the original crew had built reputations on was slipping. Several of those new shops opened under the Coach Automotive name, committed to a standard the industry had stopped meeting.
Coach moved to Katzkin as the leather standard — USA-made, airbag-certified, with a manufacturer warranty that meant something. Two decades later that call looks prescient: Roadwire's leather operations were acquired by Katzkin in 2023, and Classic Soft Trim declared bankruptcy in the years that followed. Coach Automotive is still here — still locally owned, still doing the work right, still carrying on the standard we helped build.
Today we work with more than 100 dealerships from Cottage Grove, Oregon to Kelso, Washington. Leather, comfort, films, sunroofs, electronics, fleet — everything that goes in, on, or around your vehicle. One shop, one phone number.
